Updating the Blocks on the Front Page

Each of the special sections below the category slideshows is an individual area known as a "block'. If you look right over to the right hand side of the block there is a small gear icon, which when clicked on will give you an option to Configure the Block.

Click on Configure the block and you'll be taken to a screen that looks a little like general content, although there are a number of specialised fields which you can ignore.

The one you're interested in is the general content / body area which will either include text in it - which can be modified like any other text, or will include an image that needs to be replaced (in the event of fairs etc).

To update images you need to make sure first of all that you have the image stored on your computer to be selected.

Then click on the small image icon in the editor toolbar at the top of the content area - it's got a little hill range and a sun on it.

That will then bring up the Image Properties Screen.

To insert an image the steps are then:

1.  Click on the Browse Server button - this will bring up a File Browser screen

2.  On the left hand side of that screen there are a list of folders for storing images in if you want to break them down to make them easier to find in the future.

3.  If the image you want is a repeat one you can find it in the lists and then click on it to select it - click on Insert File at the top of the screen and you will come back to the Image Properties screen where you can adjust the size of the image if you need (remembering that in most cases the website automatically sizes things to fit in the available space).

4.  If the image is a new one you can click on the folder you want to store it in first, then click on Upload which will bring up a screen allowing you to browse your computer and select the image to upload - follow the instructions on that form to upload the image, then select it (if it's not already selected) and click on Insert File as above.

To save the changed front page block scroll to the bottom and click on save.

Any of the blocks on the front page can have images or a combination of images and text as preferred.
