Antique Seaman's Chest

19th Century Seaman's Chest in camphorwood with brass bindings, the underside lid painted with a ship flying the English Ensign just off the coast of France.
The seaman has opted for his chest to be made from an expensive eastern hardwood (camphor) and using bespoke solid brass handles rather than the customary rope.
